Hello from Adam SuSE93 on a Compaq Presario 1200 laptop

I compiled mplayer to get it to work with my Celeron and crazy video. It will work provided you read the man documentation slowly. I run it without the GUI and it plays HDTV rips very well. You can as one user run multiple instances of mplayer provided you pick out the right video driver for your card (VESA works pretty well compared to the other drivers you can select by using the (home)/.mplayer/config file). My states this:

# Write your default config options here!
framedrop=yes
vo=x11
xdr=yes
fs=yes

Remember that mplayer is very hard on the video, so you have to have the right X driver as well as the right mplayer driver running. It took me awhile to get it so I can see my Enterprise and Stargate Atlantis rips from Limewire.

Now, is the second user you generated in the video group as well? Just thinking.

Adam
